Ms. Dee Hoty was born on August 16th, 1952 in Lakewood, Ohio. She attended Otterbein College, a private liberal arts college in Ohio, where she apparently returns to occasionally in order to participate "in mainstage and summer theatre productions." Doing regional theatre until she made her break onto Broadway by replacing Jane Summerhays in Me and My Girl, Dee Hoty loves what she does. Being a three-time Tony nominee, other people seem to love it as well. She was married at some point in time, but obtained a divorce near to the end of The Will Rogers Follies run. Ms. Hoty has no children ("I can't imagine what it means to be a parent. I see my siblings wrestling to this day. It all comes out as neat as a pin in a Broadway show; in life it's just not that easy."). She has, since Will Rogers, appeared in Footloose, The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public, and is now in Mamma Mia! on Broadway. |
